Masks

I really like the idea of exploring masks. The idea came from searching my house for different 'adornments'. I found a venetian mask that my friend bought for me from Venice. Also when doing the vector style mendi patterns and adorning the portrait photos I took with them that also reminded me of masks. How one of them masked round the eyes perfectly. I thought this could be an interesting concept to explore with the kind of imagery I have been creating. Looking a lot more closer at the face being adorned, and at the idea of hiding/disguising yourself under a mask.
It then occurred to me how masks can be very metaphorical. How we all hide ourselves under masks each day. I'm not sure exactly how to portray these ideas in the work I'm doing, so that's my mission for this coming week. Thinking about concept, messages, audiences and purpose.
